Micaela is pursuing her Masters of Global Affairs at the Munk School of Global Affairs. She is currently researching cisgender opposition to transgender access to public washrooms, research funded by the Social Science and Humanities Research Council of Canada. In 2017, she graduated from McMaster University with a degree in Justice, Political Philosophy, and Law and a minor in Cultural Anthropology. As former Chair of the Hamilton Status of Women Advisory Committee, a Housing Stability Worker for Good Shepherd Centres Hamilton, and an intern for Youth LEAD Thailand, Micaela’s work confronts intersectional vectors of oppression through accessible community building. Though born and raised in Hamilton, Micaela has lived in Montreal, Toronto, Calgary, and Vancouver.
