Betsy Milne is a summer intern for Youth LEAD from Toronto, Canada. She is a Master of Global Affairs student from the Munk School of Global Affairs at the University of Toronto. Betsy recently graduated from McGill University with a Bachelor of Arts in Gender, Sexuality, Feminist and Social Justice studies. During, and upon completion of her degree, Betsy worked as a research assistant for the faculty of Social Work at the University of Toronto. In this work, she researched topical issues such as ‘sexting,’ youth homelessness, indigenous child welfare and community-based research techniques. Betsy aims to apply her research expertise and social justice background to her work with youth LEAD. Upon graduation of her Masters, she hopes to continue to work with NGOs dedicated to combatting discrimination against women and sexual minorities.
